That's great! I used History Quill's beta reader service and found it helpful, but haven't tried their editors yet. Good to hear you had a positive experience! It sounds like your DE was very thorough. Best wishes with your revisions!
I’ve been so busy that I didn’t get to write as much as I wanted this past year even though it was my first full year in retirement. I just submitted chapter 14 for my November submission in the group coaching program. I plan to finish chapter 15 in December, which would/should be about 1/2 of my novel, according to my original outline. My goal is to finish the other 15 chapters in the first half of the coming year. It was good to read your comments about Edward. I was thinking about asking him to be the editor for my manuscript, once it is completed. Best wishes for continued success with your novel. Kimber
I'm glad to hear you're making progress. Retirement seems to behave that way for most people. I hope the coming year will be more focused for you. Keep me informed! I'm looking forward to your story.
Hi Kimber! Thank you! Thank you! I've been meaning to touch base with you. I hope your project is going well. I'm looking forward to reading it. My editor: Edward from History Quill. He did a great job. Super insightful.
Congratulations on your first editorial pass! This especially was promising: “. . . the research is worn lightly, which contributes to the fast reading pace.” Wow! Great. Onward and continued luck. And perseverance.
I happily volunteer as a beta reader, depending on how fast you want and how granular you need the feedback to be. A tome of 200,000 words is probably not read in a weekend, especially not when also jotting down feedback. 😜 My advantage is, that as a not native speaker I only notice grammar errors when they are really, really severe.
Oh, Wow! I’m so grateful! And, yes, LOL! Your grammar radar sounds just perfect :) Definitely not a weekend read. I think it will be about 20 hours for the average reader. I’ll give lot’s of lead in warning time. And broad feedback guidelines. Definitely NOT granular. I’ll be looking for things like: I’m completely lost here; I fell asleep there… Heh. Reader stuff. I’ll also give a nice chunk of time for it. Because I know it’s a big ask. It takes me a long time to get through books these days. Way too many distractions.

Thanks! I'm glad your found their beta reader service positive. I'll likely consider that too - even I ever get this blurb-blurb thing done!

Thank you, Jeanine! It’s exciting even if still a bit overwhelming. Hah.
Best of luck!!
